Start with a shot.
Stay for the community.
No experience? No problem. Most members started exactly where you are. Here is the whole journey, from first visit to full membership.
First step: come and shoot.
Guest days are run on the first Thursday of every month at our main range. Use the contact form to book a place — no experience required, just curiosity and a willingness to learn.
From probationary to full member.
Becoming a member is a deliberate, time-intensive process — because safety and proficiency matter. Here's exactly what it involves.
-
Attend a guest day
Book a place on the first Thursday of the month at our main range. Try the sport, meet the coaches, see if it's for you.
-
Become a probationary member
Commit to a minimum of three months of regular attendance. Consistency is what turns a visitor into a shooter.
-
Complete mandatory supervised training shoots
A structured course, run with coaches, covering every fundamental before you shoot unsupervised.
-
Committee vote
Once your training is complete, the committee meets and votes on you joining the club as a full member.
What the training covers.
Basic range safety
The non-negotiable foundation — how the range operates and how to keep everyone on it safe.
NRA standard safe shooter course
The nationally recognised standard for safe shooting practice and conduct.
Safe firearm handling & range regulations
Correct, consistent handling and the rules that keep a range safe at all times.
Sighting systems, marksmanship & zeroing
Understanding your sights, building good shooting habits, and zeroing your weapon correctly.
Cleaning & maintenance
Keeping your firearm reliable and safe — a core part of being a responsible shooter.
.22 bolt & semi-automatic competency
Demonstrated proficiency with both .22 bolt action and .22 semi-automatic actions.

No outstanding proceedings
You do not have any outstanding criminal proceedings which may render you a prohibited person.
